New pictures taken at Kai's baby blessing by Grandma Kris. We were all matchy matchy, which I used to think was lame. Until I had two girls. Turns out I'm lame. Who knew?!?
Not a big fan of the binky in this shot, but as it turns out Lelah's worst shot is the only one everyone else looks normal in.
Owen is masterful at facepulling.
She is getting so big!
And this last one is just a little editing experiment in Picasa. [photoshop is on my laptop :( ]

Obama Health Care
Democratic New York State Senator Ruben Diaz, Chairman of the New York State Senate Aging Committee, who writes:
Section 1233 of House Resolution 3200 puts our senior citizens on a slippery slope and may diminish respect for the inherent dignity of each of their lives…. It is egregious to consider that any senior citizen … should be placed in a situation where he or she would feel pressured to save the government money by dying a little sooner than he or she otherwise would, be required to be counseled about the supposed benefits of killing oneself, or be encouraged to sign any end of life directives that they would not otherwise sign.

A-Tishoo
Walter de la Mare
'Sneeze, Pretty: sneeze, Dainty,
Else the Elves will have you sure,
Sneeze, Light-of-Seven-Bright-Candles,
See they're tippeting at the door;
Tiny feet in measure falling,
All their little voices calling,
Calling, calling, calling, calling--
Sneeze, or never come no more!'
'A-tishoo!'

I will never understand politics
*****************************
Nedra Pickler, Associated Press
Lipstick quip causing a stir:
Then either in response to Palin, or not in response to Palin, [O]bama told an audience Tuesday that GOP presidential nominee John McCain says he'll change Washington, but he's just like President Bush.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin's joke even if it's not what Obama meant. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."
McCain's campaign called the comments "offensive and disgraceful" and said Obama owes Palin an apology. Obama's campaign said he wasn't referring to Palin and said the GOP camp was engaging in a "pathetic attempt to play the gender card."
***********************************
I know Obama and other politicians, including McCain himself, have used this phrase long before Palin's joke in her speech. But at the same time, for someone as intelligent as Obama is and given the timing of this comment, I have a very hard time believing he didn't mean it the way it sounded. That being said, since when are fish, pigs, and lipstick issues at the heart of the campaign?
I wish both candidates would focus on issues and steer clear of the smear.

11 Days!
11 Days until we go to Hawaii.
But now our newest concern, Dad's surgery. Dad is in surgery right now to clean his infected foot from his previous surgery. We aren't sure if he will be able to go to Hawaii with us, so we are all praying for him.
I wanted to put his name in the temple, but apparently you can't do that after noon on Mondays, so it will have to wait until tomorrow morning bright and early.
I love you daddy. Happy Father's Day yesterday!

Gwennie's haircut
I kept trying to talk her out of it, but her mind was made up. It took a while for me to get over my issues and let her do what she wanted, but after all it is her hair.
It looks beautiful, and I am so proud of Gwennie for being so brave and giving at such a young age.
P.S. You can see my new dark wall a bit in the first pic

Zag Bags!!
Got the Zag Bags and everyone totally loves them! Funny thing, at church on Sunday someone stopped me and mentioned that she totally forgot about the party until now, almost 2 months later. She had really wanted to go and wondered if I was going to have another one. That is like the 5th person to say that. But if they flaked out the first time, who is to say they wouldn't flake out again if I had another party sometime down the road.
Anyhow, my purses are especially cute, and April loved her makeup bag birthday present. Thanks for going out of your way for me, Er!
Hawaii here we come!!
